Some Really Good Advice Our Rules

  • Fees

Tuition fees: Tuition fees are payable on termly basis according to the fees applicable to each class.
Payment deadlines: All fees are expected to be paid in full on or before the first day of reopening of each school term. For new admissions, please follow the due date for payment specified in your enrolment letter.

  • Dress Code

We believe that the way a student dresses affects his or her behaviour and school work. Students are expected to dress appropriately and this must be a collaborative effort of both parents and students. Students must desist from dressing in ways that may distract the teaching and learning process.
Uniform: The school uniform is worn on Mondays and Tuesdays. Uniforms can be purchased from the school’s administrator's office. The uniform should be worn with a black or brown coloured shoe with white socks.
Ceremonial Attire: The school’s ceremonial attire is worn every Wednesday or during important ceremonies such as Speech and Prize Giving days, which students are updated on. The ceremonial attire should be worn with a black shoe and white socks.
School's Polo Shirt: The school’s polo shirt is worn on Thursdays with a blue or black jeans trousers and a pair of canvas or sneakers. Female students can wear a black skirt to match it if they are not comfortable with trousers for religious or other reasons. The polo shirt is also worn during educational tours and field trips.
Friday/PE Wear: The Friday or PE wear is worn every Friday and during Physical Education lessons. Students are expected to wear their PE attire with a canvas or sneakers and socks.
Cold Weather Clothing Policy: Pullovers, sweaters or cardigans will be allowed to be worn only when the weather is cold. The above mentioned clothes are the only allowed extra clothes aside official school attires. These must be of solid colour, without writings or inscriptions on them. Sweaters or cardigans with hoods will not be tolerated. Any other clothing such as shirts, petty coats, vests, blazers or jackets will not be allowed in school.
Messed Up Uniforms: Sometimes children may become wet due to some activities or soil themselves during their time in school. For comfort, children are changed into dry clothing, kindly place an extra dress and under garments in your wards bag for use during such unfortunate eventualities.
Shoes and Socks: All students must wear white socks which extend above the top of the shoe. Socks that are not visible when worn because they are too short will not be allowed. Only closed toed shoes without heels would be permitted to be worn. Open-toed footwear and shoes with heels are unacceptable in school.
Jewelry: No jewelry may be worn to school apart from plain earrings (not dangling) and wrist watches.
Hair: Students' hair must be kept tidy at all times. Girls who plait their hairs must do so using their natural hairs without any attachments like ribbons, hair accessories and wig extensions. Students’ haircut must be of even length without any shaved patterns in the hair. The colour of students' hair must be of natural colour without dye or highlights.

  • Before and After School Hours

Students should not arrive to school prior to our opening times and are expected to be picked up or leave the school campus by the closing times stated on our routine page. School personnel are not responsible for supervising students on the school premises before or after school begins or closes. The school will therefore not be held liable for mishaps or accidents that occur to students outside the stated regular school hours.
Reporting Time: Please refer to our routine page for our reporting times. Pre-kindergarten pupils are expected to report to school between the hours of 7:00am to 8:00am. Parents are to ensure their wards are punctual to school. Lateness to school is discouraged. Please Note: No child should be dropped off at the front gate on their own. Please walk your child to his/her classroom and hand him/her over to the teacher.
Closing Time: Please refer to our routine page for the times our classes finish for the various departments. Pre-kindergarten learners do not partake in after-school classes. Parents would be given up to 4pm to pick up their wards after which a late pick up fee would be charged at GHC0.50 per minute. Late fees are payable in cash to the teacher assigned to supervise the child upon pick up. Unpaid late pick up fees will be billed to the student's account.
Departure: Only authorized persons will be allowed to pick up students after school or during eventualities. These authorized persons are registered to the school's records as part of the enrolment process. If for whatever reason a person unknown to the school has to pick up a child, do inform the school's administrator. We will require a form of national identification from the authorized person to ensure your child’s safety. Students will not be released to any persons below the age of 12.

  • Attendance Policy

We expect to see your child in school unless they are ill. Kindly let us know if your child is absent from school as soon as possible. This can be done by telephone or email. If you intend to take your child out of school during school hours, an absence form needs to be completed and authorized before absence begins. In a case where a child absents himself or herself from school for ten consecutive days without seeking permission, school authorities will terminate his or her enrolment.
Sickness/Medical Emergencies: If your child becomes ill during school hours, you will be contacted immediately. If you are unavailable, the school administrator would take decisions pertaining to the emergency care of your child until your arrival.
Illness At Home: We expect you to recognize any symptoms of ill health in your child. Please do not bring your child to school if there is any indication of the following: fever, vomiting, any unusual discharge from the eyes or nose, skin rashes colds or coughs. Infections spread rapidly among young children and we do our best to prevent this from happening if possible.

  • Meals

Snack: Please check on our routine page or with your ward's teachers for our snack break times. Parents are encouraged to provide their wards with healthy snacks such as fruits or drinks daily. As much as possible, snacks should be pre-packed and require little or no preparation by school staff such as heating.
Lunch: Nutrition plays an integral role in the development of children. With that in mind, the school provides a daily wholesome lunch incorporating whole grains and non-processed foods into your child's diet. Lunch is provided to students on a weekly subscription rate.
Food Allergies: Please ensure that we know about any food allergies your ward has.
Special Diets: If your child has any special dietary needs, please consult with the administrator to work with you to make sure your child is served appropriate foods.
Birthday Celebrations: Children love to celebrate their birthdays at school and we do our best to make it special and memorable. All birthday parties are held during snack/lunch breaks. We recommend that you choose healthy snacks for the occasion and if possible, provide packages so that each child can send his/her snack home. Snacks for birthday parties must be FDA certified. Please contact your child's teacher at least one week in advance of your planned celebration date so that a mutually convenient time and date may be arranged to celebrate your child's birthday in school.

  • Medication

Medication will only be administered when it is dated with a written permission by the parent(s)/guardian stating the length of time and dosage the medication may be given. We encourage that medicines are kept in their original containers and labeled with the child's name, instruction for administration, including the times and amounts of dosages.

  • Toilet Training

We are happy to change diapers as long as it is needed and necessary. If your child is not potty-trained, please provide enough diapers/pull-ups along with baby wipes on a daily basis.

  • Emergency Details

Please keep the school up to date with phone numbers and email addresses and alert the administrator of any changes as soon as possible. If there are any changes in people authorized to pick up your child, please notify the administrator immediately. It is important that we have the correct information as this can save your child unnecessary distress.

  • Withdrawal of Students

Parents are required to give the school a minimum of three-week notice in writing prior to withdrawing their child/children. If your child starts the term, you will be charged for the full term and that is non-refundable. If fees have however been paid before the start of the school term, tuition fees would be fully refunded. Please note that in this case the admission/registration fee is non-refundable.

  • Codes of Conduct

Students and parents are to abide by the values of Royal Diadem School. Inappropriate conduct of the student or parent may result in suspension or expulsion. If a student refuses to do assigned class exercises and homework or engages in disruptive, threatening or undisciplined behaviour, the school has the right to terminate enrolment. Before termination occurs however, school personnel, parents and the student will work together to help solve the problem. School fees are non-refundable in this case.

  • Use of Electric Gadgets

The school discourages the use of devices such as cameras, mobile phones, tablets, music players or laptops during school hours. Any of such devises found with any student will be confiscated.
